Correction – Extension of deadline for comments

1. In Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2009-176, the Commission proposed various amendments to the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations, the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987, the Pay Television Regulations, 1990 and the Specialty Services Regulations, 1990. The deadline for comments was 3 May 2009.
2. Section 10(3) of the Broadcasting Act requires that a copy of each regulation that the Commission proposes to make be published in the Canada Gazette and a reasonable opportunity be given to licensees and other interested persons to make representations to the Commission with respect thereto.
3. Given that the 18 April 2009 issue of the Canada Gazette that followed the publication of Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2009-176 included a summary but not the full text of each regulation to be amended, the notice will be published in the Canada Gazette again on 25 April 2009 with the full text of the proposed amendments. In order to provide a reasonable opportunity for parties to comment, the Commission hereby extends the deadline for comments to 11 May 2009. The new deadline will be reflected in a subsequent issue of the Canada Gazette.
