  The licensee proposes to suspend adherence to certain industry codes and accordingly modify the following conditions of licence which currently read as follows:
 

The licensee shall adhere to the guidelines on gender portrayal set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Sex-role portrayal code for television and radio programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.

  and,
 

The licensee shall adhere to the Pay television and pay-per-view programming code regarding violence, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.

  with the following conditions of licence (changes in bold):
 

The licensee shall adhere to the guidelines set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Equitable portrayal code, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission. The application of the foregoing condition of licence will be suspended as long as the licensee remains a member in good standing of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.

  and,
 

The licensee shall adhere to the Pay television and pay-per-view programming code regarding violence, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission. The application of the foregoing condition of licence will be suspended as long as the licensee remains a member in good standing of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.

  Astral states that the proposed amendments would allow the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) to administer complaints concerning these industry codes on its behalf.
  The CBSC has also forwarded a letter to the Commission stating that they are prepared to assume responsibility for the administration of these industry codes.

  Applications by Faithway Communications Inc. to amend the licence of the specialty English-language commercial Christian music FM radio programming undertaking CJRI-FM Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  The licensee proposes to add low-power FM transmitters at Woodstock, New Brandon and Saint Stephen to broadcast the programming of CJRI-FM in order to serve the population of the areas.
  Residents from the three localities have demonstrated an interest for the availability of CJRI-FM's programming in their area.
  The transmitter at Woodstock would operate on frequency 101.1 MHz (channel 266LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts (non-directional antenna/effective height of antenna above average terrain 23 metres).
  The transmitter at New Brandon would operate on frequency 99.7 MHz (channel 259LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts (non-directional antenna/effective height of antenna above average terrain 45 metres).
  The transmitter at Saint Stephen would operate on frequency 99.9 MHz (channel 260LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts (non-directional antenna/effective height of antenna above average terrain 56 metres).

  The licensee proposes to modify the condition of licence relating to the adherence to the industry code regarding Sex-role portrayal which currently reads as follows:
