Application by CTVglobemedia Inc., on behalf of its subsidiary 4358350 Canada Inc., to amend the licence of the English-language specialty programming undertaking known as MuchMusic. |
The licensee proposes to amend the condition of licence 1(b) to add the program categories 9 (Variety) and 10 (Game shows), and is prepared to accept a condition of licence limiting the amount of category 9 and 10 programming broadcast each week to 15% and 10% respectively. |
The licensee also proposes to amend the conditions of licence 6(a) and 6(b) in order to calculate its Canadian content obligations over the broadcast year. |
The licensee's current conditions of licence in regards to the calculation of its Canadian content obligations are calculated over a broadcast week. The licensee stated that measuring these over the year, rather than the week, would allow them more scheduling flexibility and would be consistent with the conditions of licence imposed on other specialty services. |

Application by CTVglobemedia Inc., on behalf of its subsidiary 4358350 Canada Inc., to amend the licence of the English-language specialty programming undertaking known as MuchMoreMusic. |
The licensee proposes to change the definition of "Broadcast Week" that currently applies to their conditions of licence 1(d), 1(e), 1(f), 2(b) and 2(c). |
The licensee's current definition of "Broadcast Week" means seven consecutive broadcast days, beginning on Sunday. |
The licensee would like to use the same definition of "Broadcast Week" that currently applies to MuchMusic, which means seven consecutive days beginning on Friday. |
The licensee stated that this amendment would allow for increased scheduling flexibility and would reduce the administrative burden on programming staff who now must schedule programming for MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic based on two different definitions of "broadcast week". |
