Destandardization and withdrawal of FLEX Access |
1. |
The Commission received an application by MTS Allstream Inc. (MTS Allstream), dated 9 April 2008, in which it proposed revisions to its Supplementary Tariff - Special Services and Facilities, in order to destandardize and withdraw item 6680 - FLEX Access, effective 25 April 2008. |
2. |
MTS Allstream provided the information required by the Commission in Telecom Decision 2008-22, which established new procedures for the destandardization and/or withdrawal of tariffed services. |
3. |
MTS Allstream submitted that, since no customer currently used this service, a customer notice was not required. MTS Allstream also submitted that it did not anticipate future demand for FLEX Access since it also offered Digital Network Access as an alternative service at more favourable rates. |
4. |
In Telecom Order 2008-105, the Commission approved MTS Allstream's application on an interim basis, effective 25 April 2008. |
5. |
The Commission received no comments regarding this application. |
6. |
The Commission considers that MTS Allstream has fulfilled the requirements set out in Telecom Decision 2008-22. The Commission therefore considers that MTS Allstream's proposal to destandardize and withdraw FLEX Access is reasonable. |
7. |
In light of the above, the Commission approves on a final basis MTS Allstream's application. |
