LetterOttawa, 19 November 2008 File no.: 8740-M59-200812299 By E-mail Mr. John Maksimow RE: Tariff Notice 659 - Revisions to the Competitive Local Exchange Carrier General Tariff On 10 September 2008, the Commission received an application from MTS Allstream Inc., under cover of Tariff Notice 659, in which the company proposed modifications to its Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) General Tariff. Specifically, the company proposed revisions to the conditions of service related to its 9-1-1 Emergency Response Service, pursuant to the Commission's directives set out in Review of the regulatory requirement for CLEC-municipality agreements for the provision of 9-1-1 service, Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-72, 11 August 2008. A proceeding to establish a model tariff for 9-1-1 Emergency Response Service may be initiated shortly. Consequently, the Commission will not be able to render a decision within 45 business days of the date of receipt of the application.
