LetterOttawa, 3 October 2008 File No.: 8740-S22-200810277 BY E- MAIL Mr. Robert Hersche RE: Tariff Notices Nos. 182 and 182A - Destandardization and Withdrawal of Northern Radio Telephone Service The Commission received an application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel) under cover of Tariff Notices 182 and 182A, dated 25 July 2008, and amended on 31 July 2008, in which the company proposed to destandardize and withdraw Northern Radio Telephone Service (NRTS) because it was being provided using obsolete and unreliable technology. The Commission received comments from Paull River Wilderness Camp, a petition from Mr. Ron Warner opposing SaskTel's proposal to withdraw NRTS, and reply comments from SaskTel dated 22 and 25 September 2008. In light of the comments received, the Commission will be unable to dispose of the company's application within 45 business days. The Commission expects to render its decision on the company's application by the end of October 2008. Yours sincerely, Original signed by Joe Cabrera Suzanne Bédard cc: Joseph Cabrera, CRTC (819) 934-6352, joseph.cabrera@crtc.gc.ca Date Modified: 2008-10-03 |
