Re: Request to modify procedures to Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2008-5

In a letter dated 10 July 2008, Télébec requested that the procedures set out in Telecom Public Notice 2008-5 be amended to allow it to submit comments within 60 days of the decision resulting from this proceeding. Télébec requested this amendment to allow its comments to take into account the Commission's determinations arising out of the follow-up proceeding for Tél ébec initiated by Telecom Decision 2008-14 relating to certain Phase II costing issues.

Commission staff has examined Télébec's request and considers that the issues arising out of Telecom Public Notice 2008-5 and the follow-up proceeding to Telecom Decision 2008-14 are sufficiently distinct to allow Tél ébec to meaningfully participate in Telecom Public Notice 2008-5 without amending the existing procedures as currently set out in Telecom Public Notice 2008-5.

Sincerely,
