Dear Mr. Hersche:
Re: SaskTel Tariff Notice 178
On 21 July 2008, the Commission received an application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel), under cover of Tariff Notice 148, proposing revisions to General Tariff - Competitive Services CRTC 21412, Item 550.08 - Voice Mail to Text (VMT).
SaskTel is requested to provide its response to the two interrogatories in the attachment to this letter by 8 August 2008.

1. With reference to Item 18.104.22.168 - Conditions of Service, SaskTel is proposing a change whereby Voice Mail to Text service will only convert messages up to 750 characters or less in length, whereas the existing tariff allows for the conversion of messages that are 2 minutes or less in length . Indicate whether or not this change will result in a reduction of the length of the message that will be converted.
2. Provide the total number of customers subscribing to Voice Mail to Text service, and any data the company has as to the number/percentage of those customers that are deaf or hard of hearing.
3. Provide the company's assessment of the impact that the proposed tariff revisions will have on deaf and hard of hearing customers, providing any factual evidence the company has to support its assessment.Date Modified: 2008-07-30
