Subject: Follow-up to Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-14, Review of certain Phase II costing issues, 21 February 2008

Pursuant to the follow-up process set out in Review of certain Phase II costing issues , Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-14, 21 February 2008 (Telecom Decision 2008-14 ), on 12 May 2008 the Commission received comments from Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership and Bell Canada (collectively, Bell Canada et al.) and MTS Allstream Inc. (MTS Allstream) regarding various costing material filed by the incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) dated 21 April 2008.

In their comments, Bell Canada et al. and MTS Allstream submitted that the material filed by the other, as well as by other ILECs, contained deficiencies, and inconsistencies across ILECs.

Commission staff agrees that certain deficiencies and inconsistencies clearly need to be addressed. In this respect, Commission staff considers that it would be more efficient and effective for it to address these matters bilaterally with each ILEC in question by way of one or more conference calls.   It is expected that following such discussions, the ILEC in question will file revised material.

In light of the above, the process set out in paragraph 149 of the Telecom Decision 2008-14 is amended such that the revised ILEC submissions stemming from the bilateral discussions and ILEC reply comments are to be filed by 20 June 2008.

The above material is to be filed and served by a specific date, that document must be received, not merely sent by that date.

Yours sincerely,
