LetterFile No.: 8638-C12-200800955 Ottawa, 25 January 2008 Kaslo infoNet Society RE: Follow up to Andy Shadrack, Director, Area D, Regional District Central Kootenay - Application to review and vary certain determinations in Telecom Decision 2007-50, Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-5 In Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-5 [1] (Decision 2008-5), the Commission determined that additional information was necessary in order to have a full record on which to base its final decision regarding exclusion requests from Kaslo infoNet Society (KiN) for five British Columbia communities. In that Decision, the Commission directs KiN to file the information identified in paragraph 9(a) of Telecom Public Notice 2006-15, as well as answers to interrogatories issued concurrently with Telecom Decision 2008-5. The Commission's interrogatories are included in the Attachment to this letter, which also provides a format for the filing of the information required pursuant to paragraph 9(a) of Telecom Public Notice 2006-15. As noted in Telecom Decision 2008-5, KiN is to file this information by 8 February 2008, and serve a copy on all interested parties to Telecom Public Notice 2006 15. TELUS Communications Company (TCC) and any other interested party to the Telecom Public Notice 2006-15 proceeding wishing to comment on KiN's submission may do so by 15 February 2008, serving a copy on all interested parties to the Telecom Public Notice 2006-15 proceeding. KiN may file reply comments with the Commission, serving a copy on all other parties, by 22 February 2008. ATTACHMENT Interrogatories for Kaslo infoNet Society (KiN) Refer to TCC's submissions as part of the Telecom Public Notice 2006-15 proceeding identifying Duncan Lake (Argenta), Duncan Lake (Howser), Duncan Lake (Lardeau), Duncan Lake ( Marblehead ) and Duncan Lake (Meadow Creek), British Columbia , as proposed communities for the purpose of deferral account funded broadband expansion. With respect to each of these communities, provide the information requested below: Question 1001 Community and Service Information
Question 1002 If service was not available in the entire community as of 19 February 2007, the extent to which it will be during the following years (taking into account capacity limitations): Detailed Expansion Plan per Year for each community
Question 1003 Coverage maps Provide detailed map(s) showing KiN's specific broadband coverage areas for each community for which an exclusion is requested. Map(s) should be clearly labelled with community names and other relevant information (e.g., roads) and include a scale bar. The boundaries of KiN's broadband service coverage in the community should be clearly marked. A Google-like map is acceptable as long as KiN's coverage area is clearly marked. Question 1004 Services and technologies Complete the table below for each type of technology employed to serve the identified communities (e.g., fixed wireless, cable modem, etc.):
