Illico sur demande - Acquisition of assets

1.

The Commission approves the application by Videotron Ltd. (Videotron) to acquire the assets of the video-on-demand (VOD) broadcasting programming undertaking Illico sur demande from Archambault Group Inc. (Archambault Group) and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of the undertaking under the same terms and conditions as those in effect under the current licence.

2.

The Commission notes that this transaction is further to a corporate reorganization that will not affect the ultimate control of the VOD undertaking, which will continue to be exercised by Fiducie Spéciale Pierre Péladeau.

3.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

4.

Upon surrender of the current licence issued to Archambault Group, the Commission will issue a new licence to Videotron. The licence will expire 31 August 2009, the current licence expiry date, and will be subject to the same terms and conditions as those in effect under the current licence.
