CJRI-FM Fredericton - Technical change |
1. |
The Commission approves the application by Faithway Communications Inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CJRI-FM Fredericton, in order to change the frequency from 94.7 MHz (channel 234LP) to 104.5 MHz (channel 283LP). The implementation is subject to the notification by the Department of Industry (the Department) discussed in paragraph 3 below. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application. |
2. |
The licensee indicated that this change is necessary due to interference from a new FM radio station in the United States using the existing frequency of CJRI-FM. |
|
Condition prior to the implementation of the new technical parameters. |
3. |
The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. Therefore, in the absence of the notification by the Department, the licensee will not be able to implement the new technical parameters approved in this decision. |
4. |
Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected FM service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another frequency if the Department so requires. |
