CKMH-FM Medicine Hat - Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by Rogers Broadcasting Limited (RBL) to change the authorized contours of the radio programming undertaking CKMH-FM Medicine Hat by moving the transmission facilities from a tower owned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to one owned by the CKUA Radio Foundation (CKUA). The implementation is subject to the notification by the Department of Industry (the Department) discussed in paragraph 4 below.
2. RBL indicated that the tower owned by CKUA would provide coverage over a wider area with a more consistent signal.
3. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

Condition prior to the implementation of the new authorized contours

4. The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. Therefore, in the absence of the notification by the Department, the applicant will not be able to change the contours, as approved in this decision.
