Licensing of new radio stations to serve Ottawa and Gatineau - Correction

The Commission hereby corrects the summary to Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2008-222 to include a reference to the dissenting opinion by Commissioner Michel Morin.

The revised summary reads as follows:
 

The Commission approves the applications by Astral Media Radio inc. and by Frank Torres, on behalf of a corporation to be incorporated, for broadcasting licences to operate new FM radio stations to serve Ottawa and Gatineau.

 

The Commission denies the remaining applications for broadcasting licences for radio stations to serve Ottawa and Gatineau.

 

The Commission also denies the application by Instant Information Services Incorporated to change the authorized contours of the English-language FM commercial tourist radio station CIIO-FM Ottawa by increasing the effective radiated power from 25 watts to an average effective radiated power of 427 watts.

 

A dissenting opinion by Commissioner Michel Morin is attached.
