  Application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to amend the licence of the radio programming undertaking CBCT-FM Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
  The licensee proposes to add an FM transmitter atElmira to broadcast the programming service of Radio One originating from CBCT-FM Charlottetown in order to serve the population of Elmira.
  The transmitter would operate on frequency 92.3 MHz (channel 222A) with an average effective radiated power of 940 watts (maximum effective radiated power of 3,150 watts/effective antenna height of 114.6 metres).
  The CBC indicates that the new FM transmitter is intended to provide their Radio One service to the eastern tip of Prince Edward Island, including the community of Souris, which is situated just outside the coverage area of CBCT-FM.

  Application by 3937844 Canada Inc. to renew the licence of the English-language commercial radio programming undertaking CIQX-FM, Calgary, expiring 31 August 2007.
  The licensee has stated that while it has operated CIQX-FM as a Specialty FM (Smooth Jazz format) over the station's complete first term of licence, it has incurred substantial financial losses in doing so. Consequently, it is the licensee's view that the Specialty FM Smooth Jazz format is not viable in the current Calgary market. Therefore, the licensee has requested that all of CIQX-FM's current conditions of licence related to operating in the Specialty FM format be deleted as part of CIQX-FM's renewal application.
  The licensee proposes to delete the following conditions of licence:
 

The licensee must operate the station within the Specialty format as defined in Public Notice CRTC 1995-60, as amended in Public Notice CRTC 2000-14;

 

The licensee must devote 70% or more of its total weekly music programming to selections from sub-category 34, Jazz and Blues;

 

The licensee shall, in any broadcast week devote 35% or more of its musical selections from content Category 3 to Canadian selections broadcast in their entirety, and scheduled in a reasonable manner throughout the broadcast day;

 

The licensee shall, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., in any period beginning on Monday of a week and ending on Friday of the same week, devote 35% or more of its Category 3 musical selections to Canadian selections broadcast in their entirety.
