Salmon Arm, British Columbia
Application No. 2007-0219-3
Application by Standard Radio Inc. (Standard) to amend the broadcasting licence of the radio programming undertaking CKXR-FM Salmon Arm, British Columbia.
Standard proposes to change its condition of licence in order to extend the period of time from 27 February 2007 to 27 February 2008, to simulcast the programming of CKXR-FM on its AM station CKXR Salmon Arm.
The new FM station (CKXR-FM) was approved in,CKXR Salmon Arm - Conversion to FM band, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2005-77 (Decision 2005-77), 25 February 2005.
In Decision 2005-77, the Commission approved, by condition of licence, a simulcast period of three months following the commencement of operation of the new FM radio station CKXR-FM Salmon Arm. Standard confirmed that it commenced the operation of the new station on 27 November 2006.
Standard indicates that since signing the new FM radio station on the air in November, several communities in the original AM coverage, including Enderby and Sicamous, British Columbia, are experiencing reception difficulties.
Standard also indicates that applications to add repeaters in these communities are forthcoming, but in the meantime it wishes to maintain its original coverage by continuing to simulcast its programming on the AM band.
Also, as indicated in Decision 2005-77, the revocation of the licence for CKXR will be effective at the end of the simulcast period.

Application No. 2007-0216-9
Application by 663975 B.C. Ltd. relating to the licence of the English-language commercial radio programming undertaking CKFU-FM Fort St. John.
The licensee proposes to change the authorized contours byincreasing the effective radiated power from 23 watts to 20,000 watts, by increasing the antenna height and by relocating the transmitter (non-directional antenna/antenna height 157.5 metres).
The authorized contours of the transmitter will be increased significantly resulting from the proposed technical changes.
The Commission notes that the increase in power would change the status of CKFU-FM Fort St. John from an unprotected low-power service to a regular Class B service.
