Application by Stuart Media Group Inc. to amend the licence of the national Category 2 specialty programming undertaking known as CGTV (originally approved under the name of The Gaming Channel).

The licensee proposes to amend condition of licence 1(b) to add category 7(d) theatrical feature films aired on television to the list of categories from which it may draw programming.
|
|
|
The licensee further proposes to limit the amount of category 7(d) programming which it may broadcast at 15% of the broadcast week.
|
|
|
The licensee states that the addition of some feature films that fall well within CGTV's longstanding nature of service mandate will allow for a positive enhancement of the viewing experience for subscribers.

The licensee proposes to change the authorized contours by increasing the effective radiated power from 350 watts to an average effective radiated power of 4,000 watts and by increasing the antenna height (maximum effective radiated power 10,000 watts/antenna height to 290.4 metres).
|
|
|
The authorized contours of the station will be increased significantly as a result of theproposed technical changes.
|
|
|
The licensee indicates that the growing regional infrastructure has placed considerable barriers affecting and even blocking the signal penetration within the station's local market.
