Various price cap filings

1.

The Commission received an application by Bell Canada and an application by Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership (Bell Aliant), each dated 30 May 2007, in which they proposed changes to various tariff items under their respective General Tariffs and National Services Tariffs (NSTs). These applications were filed pursuant to Price cap framework for large incumbent local exchange carriers, Telecom Decision CRTC 2007-27, 30 April 2007 (Decision 2007-27).

Bell Canada and Bell Aliant (collectively, the Companies) proposed rate changes to the following voice services, effective 1 July 2007:
  • General Tariff item 70.3 - Primary Exchange (Local) Service - Equivalent Service;
  • General Tariff item 220 - Extra Listings;
  • General Tariff item 500 - Direct Inward Dialing; and
  • General Tariff item 3260 - Remote Call Forwarding Service.

The Companies also proposed rate changes to the following data services, effective 1 August 2007:
 
  • General Tariff items 950, 3750, 4660, 4665 and 4670 - Analogue Private Line Services;
 
  • General Tariff item 4210 - Diagnostic Maintenance Charge;
 
  • General Tariff item 4600 - Channels for Program Transmission;
 
  • General Tariff item 4621 - Full-Time Local Broadcast-Quality Video Transmission Broadcast Service;
 
  • General Tariff item 4630 - VHF Television Channels;
 
  • NST item 303 - Managed Digital Private Line Service; and
 
  • NST item 304 - Digital Private Line Solutions Service Extension Features.

The Commission notes the Companies' submission that the proposed price changes to both the General Tariff and NST items conform to the rate element and basket constraints established for Other Capped Services in Decision 2007-27.

Accordingly, the Commission approves on an interim basis these applications with effective dates of 1 July 2007 for the voice services and 1 August 2007 for the data services.
