Mr. Derek Barr Dear Mr. Barr: Re: Barrett Xplore Inc. - Application to review and vary Telecom Decision 2007-50 On 11 September 2007, the Commission received comments from Open Source Solutions (OSS), on behalf of its members, in the above-referenced proceeding. At paragraph 7, OSS requested that the Commission require TELUS Communications Company (TCC) to provide complete details of its proposed deferral account competitor services, including all contractual requirements and renewal options. OSS also requested an extension of the time to allow alternative broadband service providers (ABSPs) to comment further in the matter of Barrett Xplore Inc.'s (BXI) application to review and vary Telecom Decision 2007-50. OSS submitted that ABSPs should be given a minimum of 21 days to respond after receipt of the additional information requested above from TCC. Commission staff notes that the present proceeding is intended solely to address BXI's application to review and vary Telecom Decision 2007-50 and that no decision will be made on the competitor services of specific incumbent local exchange carriers. Accordingly, Commission staff considers that it is not necessary for TCC to submit the additional information requested by OSS as part of this proceeding. In light of the above, Commission staff is of the view that the extension of time requested by OSS is not necessary. Sincerely, 'Original signed by C. Bailey' (for)
