Dear Mr. Armstrong:

Re:   SaskTel Tariff Notice 143

On 17 July 2007, the Commission received an application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel), under cover of Tariff Notice 143, proposing to introduce to General Tariff - Basic Services Item 100.21 - Forborne Business Local Exchange Services.   SaskTel noted that Item 100.21 listed all of the company's existing Residential tariffs that fall within the definition of local exchange services as set out in Forbearance from the regulation of retail local exchange services, Telecom Decision CRTC 2006-15, 6 April 2006.

On 18 April 2007 SaskTel filed an application for forbearance from the regulation of residential local exchange service in the Saskatoon exchange.

Pursuant to Order Varying Telecom Decision CRTC 2006-15, P.C. 2007-0532, 4 April 2007, the Commission is required to dispose of these applications within 120 days after the date on which the application is received.

The Commission is currently analyzing SaskTel's forbearance application. In light of this, the Commission will be unable to dispose of the above-noted tariff application within 10 business days.   The Commission expects to issue a decision on SaskTel's proposed tariff revisions in conjunction with its decision on SaskTel's local forbearance application.

Yours sincerely,
