Re: Review of proposals to dispose of the funds accumulated in the deferral accounts , Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2006-15
In a letter dated 30 March 2007, Centre québécois de la déficience auditive (CQDA) and Centre de communication adaptée (CCA) submitted interrogatories in the above-mentioned proceeding. CQDA and CCA specified that their interrogatories were mainly addressed to Bell Canada and TELUS Communications Company as these companies serve communities in the province of Quebec . At paragraph 12 of their letter, CQDA and CCA requested a two-week extension to submit additional interrogatories, if necessary, in order to allow them time to further study the documents submitted by the incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs).
Commission staff notes that in separate letters dated 19 February 2007, CQDA and CCA requested, among other things, the translation of documents associated with the Public Notice 2006-15 proceeding. Commission staff further notes that an unofficial French translation was provided by Bell Canada on 28 March 2007 for certain of its submissions in this proceeding.
Commission staff is of the view that the request from CQDA and CCA for a two-week extension to submit additional interrogatories is reasonable. CQDA and CCA are to submit their additional interrogatories, if such interrogatories are needed, by no later than 13 April 2007. Commission staff notes that this extension applies only to CQDA and CCA and does not at this time make any adjustment to the schedule of the Public Notice 2006-15 proceeding, specified in a Commission staff letter dated 11 January 2007 .
