Dear Mr. Palmer:

Re:   Bell Aliant Tariff Notice 71 and Bell Canada Tariff Notice 7016 - 2-year extension option to 5-year Minimum Contract Period for Megalink Service

On 27 February 2007 , the Commission received applications from Bell Aliant Regional Communication, Limited Partnership and Bell Canada under cover of Tariff Notices 71 and 7016, respectively.

As the companies' applications raise significant policy issues related to the extension of an existing Minimum Contract Period (MCP) at the existing MCP terms, conditions and rates, the Commission will not be able to render a decision within 10 business days of the date of receipt of Tariff Notices 71 and 7016.   The Commission expects to render its decision within 45 business days of the date of receipt of the tariff notices.

Yours sincerely,
