Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-6

  Ottawa, 8 January 2007
L'Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada inc.
Across Canada
  Application 2006-1556-0

Revocation of licence

1.

L'Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada inc. (l'ARC du Canada) has requested the revocation of the licence for its national radio programming network undertaking.

2.

The licensee indicated that it ceased to broadcast its radio programs by satellite and that the member stations of l'ARC du Canada now have access to its programs via the Internet. L'ARC du Canada also stated that its programs are pre-recorded and are made available to member stations for broadcast when they so desire. For these reasons, l'ARC du Canada considers that it no longer needs to hold a broadcasting licence for a radio programming network undertaking.

3.

Given the licensee's request, the Commission revokes, pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the broadcasting licence issued to Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada inc. for the above-mentioned undertaking.
