Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-346

  Ottawa, 30 August 2007
  Cameron Bell Consultancy Ltd.
Chilliwack and Surrey, British Columbia

Administrative renewals

1.

The Commission administratively renews the broadcasting licences for the English-language, low-power FM radio programming undertakings set out in the appendix to this decision, from 1 September 2007 to 31 May 2008, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences.

2.

This administrative renewal period is to allow the licensee to resolve technical impediments in order to receive its broadcasting certificates from the Department of Industry (the Department) and, if required, to obtain all authorizations from the Commission to change its authorized technical parameters.

3.

The renewal applications for these undertakings were announced in Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2007-23, 9 March 2007, and are presently under consideration by the Commission.

4.

Should these technical impediments fail to be resolved within this nine-month period, the Commission may be unable to renew these licences given that no technical certificate will have been issued by the Department as requested pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act.

5.

This decision does not dispose of any substantive issue that may exist with respect to the renewal of these licences. The Commission will issue a decision on the renewal applications at a later date.
