Transitional digital radio programming undertakings

The Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the transitional digital radio programming undertakings set out in Appendix 1 to this decision, from 1 September 2007 to 31 August 2008, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences.
|
|

Under the Commission's current practice, if an undertaking is not operational within the authorized timeframe, the authority for that undertaking lapses. Although the Commission has granted several extensions to the time limits for commencement of operation of the transitional digital radio programming undertakings listed in Appendix 2 to this decision, none of these undertakings are yet implemented. In accordance with paragraph 45 of Broadcasting Public Notice 2006-160, the authority will lapse for any of these undertakings that is not implemented by 31 August 2007.

This decision does not dispose of any substantive issue that may exist with respect to those licences being renewed and interested parties will have an opportunity to comment at the appropriate time.
