The licensee proposes to add an FM transmitter atRothesay to broadcast the programming of CJEF-FM Saint John, in order to serve the population of Rothesay and surrounding areas.
|
|
|
The transmitter would operate on frequency 95.1 MHz (channel 236LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts (non-directional antenna/antenna height of 35.9 metres).

Application by CTV Television Inc. to amend the licences of the television programming undertakings CFRN-TV-4 Ashmont and CFRN-TV Edmonton.

The licensee proposes to change the program feed of the transmitter CFRN-TV-12 Athabasca from CFRN-TV-4 Ashmont to CFRN-TV Edmonton.
|
|
|
Consequently, the licensee proposes the following:
|
|
|
a) amend the licence of CFRN-TV-4 Ashmont by deleting the transmitter
CFRN-TV-12 Athabasca, and;
|
|
|
b) amend the licence of CFRN-TV Edmonton by adding the transmitter
CFRN-TV-12 Athabasca.
|
|
|
The licensee advised that it is seeking the Commission's authority to deliver a satellite feed of CFRN-TV Edmonton to Athabasca instead of the existing microwave feed of CFRN-TV-4 Ashmont.
|
|
|
The licensee advised that programming would be for the most part unaffected, as the programming of CFRN-TV Edmonton and CFRN-TV-4 Ashmont is virtually identical with the exception of one hour per week of separate local news programming directed to the Fort McMurray community. It further stated that Athabasca is much closer to Edmonton than it is to Fort McMurray. Local news and commercials of Edmonton would be of greater relevance to viewers in Athabasca than the local Fort McMurray news and commercials.

A true copy must be sent to the applicant and proof that this has been done must accompany the intervention sent to the Commission.

The Commission advises those who file and serve by electronic mode to exercise caution when using e-mail for service of documents or notification, as it may be difficult to establish that service has occurred.

Before initiating service through electronic mode, please ensure that you will be able to satisfy the Commission, upon request, that service of the notification was completed.
