Dear Madam:

Re: Télébec Tariff Notice No. 339

On 23 November 2006 , the Commission received Société en commandite Télébec's (Télébec) Tariff Notice 339 proposing the creation of an extended local calling area in the Rivière-Héva and Cadilla exchange areas in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.   Télébec requested approval of its application by 7 December 2006 with an effective date of 15 January 2007 .

Pursuant to paragraph 79 of Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-56, 12 September 2002, and paragraph 16 of circular Introduction of a streamlined process for retail tariff filings , Telecom Circular CRTC 2005-6, 25 April 2005, Commission staff grants the interested parties a period of 25 calendar days, following the date Télébec filed its application , to allow interested parties to file their comments.

Accordingly, the Commission will not be able to render a decision by 7 December 2006 .   However, the Commission anticipates that it will be able to dispose of this application within 45 business days of the filing.

Sincerely,

" Original signed by D. Magmanlac" (for)
