Dear Mr. Jaque:

RE: NorthwestTel Inc. Tariff Notice No. 838, ISDN-PRI Service

The Commission received your letter on 24 October 2006 in which you requested an extension of the comment period for NorthwestTel Inc.'s Tariff Notice 838 which was approved on an interim basis in Telecom Order CRTC 2006-267, 10 October 2006 .

In Finalization of the streamlined process for retail tariff filings , Telecom Circular 2005-9, 1 November 2005 , the Commission indicated that parties were to provide comments within 25 calendar days of the filing date of an application. The Commission also noted that parties would continue to have the right to request an extension of time, providing justification for their request.

Your request to extend the comment date to 15 November to gather comments and information is reasonable.

Yours sincerely,

'Original signed by S. Bédard '
