Mr. Dallas Yeulett Dear Mr. Yeulett : Re: Tariff Notice 831 - Removal of Nanisivik Base Rate Area Further to the above-noted application, Northwestel Inc. cc: Residents of Nanisivik, Fax (867) 436-7182 ATTACHMENT 1) In the evidence supporting its application, Northwestel indicated that there were only eight remaining customers in Nanisivik, all of whom are mine employees or employees of a contractor working on the demolition, reclamation and cleanup activities, and therefore are temporary residents. Commission staff notes that the Commission has received comments from 23 residents of Nanisivik, opposing Northwestel's proposal to remove the service from Nanisivik.
2) In New procedures for disposition of applications dealing with the destandardization and/or withdrawal of tariffed services , Telecom Circular CRTC 2005-7, 30 May 2005, the Commission indicated that if prior to filing an application for destandardization and/or withdrawal, the applicant were to work with affected customers to develop a transition plan which is mutually satisfactory to all parties, it would remove many of the hurdles associated with the destandardization and/or withdrawal of services.
