Re:   Tariff Notice No. 4 - Interconnection with Local Exchange Carriers

Dear Mr. Brazeau:

On 15 March 2006 , the Commission received Shaw Telecom's application under cover of Tariff Notice 4, proposing revisions to the company's General Tariff to incorporate rates for the Saskatchewan market as set out in the Competitive Local Exchange Carrier Model Tariff, Version 24.

Commission staff notes that the proposed tariff pages contain the following errors:

•  at page 24, the per trunk rate for Manitoba (column: up to 24 trunks, row: greater than 20%) should read 4.99 instead of 5.99;

•  at page 39, the primary interexchange carrier (PIC) processing rate, per network access service (NAS), for both Alberta and British Columbia , should read 0.6010 instead of 0.0610.

As well, the effective date for all revised pages should remain 1 June 2005 , since the rates for the same interconnection services were approved for the Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs) effective 1 June 2005 .   If Shaw Telecom requires a different effective date for the Saskatchewan market, it should insert a note to this effect in its tariff wherever the latter incorporates rates for that particular market.   In light of the above, this application is now closed.   The Commission is open to the company filing a new application under cover of a new tariff notice, that would address the above-noted items.

Yours sincerely,
