Ottawa, 9 March 2006

To: Parties to ITS Canada Application for access code 5-1-1, Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2005-5, 9 June 2005 as amended (PN 2005-5)

Dear Sir/Madam:

Subject: Public Notice 2005-5 - Applications for assignment of access code 5-1-1 by ITS Canada et al. and the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention

On 10 January 2005, ITS Canada et al. (ITS) filed an application requesting the assignment of access code 5-1-1 for weather and traveller information services. Public Notice 2005-5 (PN 2005 -5) was issued on 9 June 2005 to deal with this application.

On 4 November 2005, the record of the proceedings to PN 2005-5 closed with receipt of reply comments. Procedural matters raised after that date were referred for consideration by the Commission.

On 15 February 2006, the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP) filed their own application requesting the assignment of access code 5-1-1 for urgent crisis intervention and suicide prevention services.

On 20 February 2006, ITS filed a letter requesting that the Commission proceed with CASP Part VII application in accordance with the CRTC Rules of Procedure.

The Commission hereby advises all parties to PN 2005-5, that the record of PN 2005-5 is re-opened to deal with the CASP Part VII application. Pursuant to the CRTC Telecommunications Rules of Procedure, parties will have to file their comments on the CASP application, serving copies to the other parties, by no later than 17 March 2006. CASP will then have to file its reply comments, serving copies to the other parties, by no later than 27 March 2006. The Commission will make a decision on the assignment of 5-1-1 after the record has been closed, at which time the Commission will deal with both the ITS Canada et al. and CASP applications.

Yours sincerely,
