Re: Application to review and vary Issues with respect to the provision of optical fibre, Telecom Decision CRTC 2005-63, 21 October 2005 (Decision 2005-63)

In a letter dated 23 December 2005, parties were provided until 27 January 2006 to file their comments and TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI) had until 6 February 2006 to file its reply to the aforementioned comments on the above noted Part VII application.

On 23 January 2006, the Commission received a request from TCI that the above noted Part VII application be modified to include TELUS Communications (Qu ébec) Inc. fibre agreements with Vidéotron Télécom ltée, Telecom Order CRTC 2005-387, 24 November 2005 (Order 2005-387) and that the period for comments and reply comments be extended.

The Commission received submissions on procedural matters dated 23 January 2006 from Xit Telecom inc. (Xit Telecom), and on 25 January 2006 from TCI and Xit Telecom.

Given the requests by TCI and Xit Telecom, parties will not be required to submit their comments on TCI's application with respect to Decision 2005-63 by 27 January 2006, nor will TCI be required to file its reply by 6 February 2006. Revised deadlines will be established as part of the disposition of the requests by TCI and Xit Telecom.
