  Deadline to commence operations

1.

The Commission approves the application by Russel C. Cook, on behalf of a not-for-profit corporation to be incorporated, for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of the radio programming undertaking to serve Opaskwayak Cree Nation near The Pas authorized in New low-power Type B FM native radio programming undertaking, Decision CRTC 2000-132, 28 April 2000 (Decision 2000-132).

The applicant stated that it needs additional time in order to continue negotiations with the band council for the funding necessary to establish the new station.

This is the applicant's sixth request for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of this undertaking.

The Commission extends, to 30 June 2006, the deadline by which the operation of this radio station must commence. This is the final extension to be granted by the Commission with respect to the implementation of this service.

5.

The licence for this undertaking will be issued once the applicant has informed the Commission in writing that it is prepared to commence operations. The authority granted in Decision 2000-132 will become null and void should the licensee fail to meet the new implementation deadline set out above.
