CINB-FM Saint John - Licence renewal
|
1.
|
The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the English-language low-power specialty (Christian music) FM radio programming undertaking CINB-FM Saint John, from 1 September 2006 to 31 August 2013.
|

The Commission received one intervention in support of this application.
|
3.
|
The licence will be subject to the following conditions:
|
|
- The station shall be operated within the Specialty format as defined in A Review of certain matters concerning radio, Public Notice CRTC 1995-60, 21 April 1995, as amended from time to time.
|
|
- During each broadcast week, at least 95% of all musical selections broadcast shall be drawn from subcategory 35 (Non-classic religious).
|
|
- During each broadcast week, at least 20% of all category 3 musical selections (Special interest) broadcast shall be Canadian selections.
|
|
- Where the licensee broadcasts religious programming as defined in Religious Broadcasting Policy, Public Notice CRTC 1993-78, 3 June 1993, the licensee shall adhere to the guidelines set out in sections III.B.2.a) and IV. of that public notice with respect to the provision of balance and ethics in religious programming, as amended from time to time.

- The licensee shall not broadcast commercial messages.
|
|
- During each broadcast week, no more than 5% of all musical selections broadcast shall be hit material as defined in Revised policy on the use of hits by English-language FM radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1997-42, 23 April 1997, as amended from time to time.
|
|
- The licensee shall contribute $1,000 annually to the development and promotion of Canadian talent.
|
|
- The licensee shall adhere to the guidelines on gender portrayal set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Sex-role portrayal code for television and radio programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.

In accordance with Implementation of an employment equity policy, Public Notice CRTC 1992-59, 1 September 1992, the Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources.
