CKTR-FM North Bay - Licence renewal
|
1.
|
The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the English-language, low-power FM radio programming undertaking CKTR-FM North Bay, from 1 September 2006 to 31 August 2013.
|

The Commission received an intervention in support of this application.
|
3.
|
The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in A licensing policy for low-power radio broadcasting, Public Notice CRTC 1993-95, 28 June 1993, as well as to the following conditions:

- The licensee shall use the station solely for the purpose of broadcasting pre-recorded messages relating to tourist sites and events in and around the City of North Bay, except for a maximum of 10 hours per week of live broadcasting.
|
|
- The licensee shall broadcast no more than six minutes of advertising material in each clock hour.
|
|
- The licensee shall not broadcast musical selections, except as incidental background music.
|
|
- The licensee shall adhere to the guidelines on gender portrayal set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' (CAB) Sex-role portrayal code for television and radio programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission. The application of the foregoing condition of licence will be suspended as long as the licensee remains a member in good standing of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.

- The licensee shall adhere to the provisions of the CAB's Broadcast code for advertising to children, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.

In accordance with Implementation of an employment equity policy, Public Notice CRTC 1992-59, 1 September 1992, the Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources.
