CJEL-FM Winkler - Licence renewal

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the English-language, commercial FM radio programming undertaking CJEL-FM Winkler, from 1 September 2006 to 31 August, 2013.

The Commission received an intervention in support of this application.

The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999, as well as to the following condition:

The licensee shall, in any broadcast week, devote a maximum of 48% of its musical selections from content category 2 to hit material, as defined in Revised policy on the use of hits by English-language FM radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1997-42, 23 April 1997, as amended from time to time.

Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
