Telecom Order CRTC 2005-52

  Ottawa, 11 February 2005

MTS Allstream Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 544

Internet Protocol Centrex service

The Commission received an application by MTS Allstream Inc. (MTS Allstream), dated 28 October 2004, to introduce General Tariff item 1988, IP Centrex Service, in order to provide voice communications between a station on the customer's local area network and a station on the public switched telephone network using Internet Protocol technology and Centrex service functionality.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission notes that the proposed service is similar to Bell Canada's Internet Voice Access Service and TELUS Communications Inc.'s IP-Evolution Service approved on an interim basis in Telecom Order CRTC 2004-353, 29 October 2004, and Telecom Order CRTC 2004-445, 23 December 2004, respectively.

The Commission approves on an interim basis MTS Allstream's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this Order.
