Telecom Order CRTC 2005-36

  Ottawa, 25 January 2005

Cochrane Telecom Services

  Reference: Tariff Notice 48

DS-1 Digital service customer provided equipment

1.

The Commission received an application by Cochrane Telecom Services (Cochrane), dated 17 December 2004, to provide DS-1 Digital Service Customer Provided Equipment Access, under section 900 of its General Tariff.

2.

In Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756, 14 December 2001 (Decision 2001-756), the Commission determined that services not specifically assigned would be included in the fourth price cap service basket. In that decision, the Commission determined that rates for services in the fourth basket would generally be permitted to increase up to any already approved rate for the same service.

3.

The Commission finds that the proposed rates were previously approved by the Commission for the same service provided by other companies and, therefore, are in accordance with Decision 2001-756.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves Cochrane's application. The revisions take effect as of 1 March 2005.

6.

Cochrane is to issue a revised tariff page forthwith to reflect this change.
