Introduction of local number portability service
1.
The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI)1, dated 19 November 2004, to revise the former TELUS Communications (Québec) Inc. General Tariff items 1.06, Local Number Portability - Access to Service Control Point, and 1.07, Call Routing - Location Routing Number Absent, of its Access Services Tariff for Interconnection, in order to introduce local number portability (LNP) service.
2.
TCI indicated that the LNP service in the territory of Quebec would be offered by means of TCI's existing technological platform and that the application tariff would be identical to that approved in Final rates for call routing - Local routing number absent service, Order CRTC 2000-394, 12 May 2000 (Order 2000-394), for TCI's serving territories outside Quebec.
3.
TCI proposed that the new service be assigned to the Competitor Services Basket as a Category I service as defined in Implementation of price regulation for Télébec and TELUS Québec, Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-43, 31 July 2002.
4.
The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.
5.
The Commission notes that TCI did not submit costing information in support of its application since the proposed rates, terms and conditions associated with the introduction of the LNP service were the same as those already approved for TCI in the Order 2000-394.
6.
The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this Order.
