Telecom Order CRTC 2005-19

  Ottawa, 12 January 2005

  Reference: Tariff Notice 111

Inter-exchange dark fibre

The Commission received an application by Ontera, dated 7 December 2004, proposing to introduce General Tariff item 3320, Inter-exchange Optical Fibre (IXOF) service.

The company submitted that IXOF service would provide the customer with single-mode, unlit optical fibre facilities between two rate centres of the company's exchanges, which do not have extended area service with each other. It added that this service would be provided where suitable existing facilities were available.

In Inter-exchange dark fibre, Telecom Order CRTC 2004-444, 23 December 2004, the Commission approved on an interim basis the application.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves on a final basis Ontera's application.
