Dear Mr. Palmer:

Re:   Bell Canada Tariff Notice 6897 - Bell Digital Voice Service

On 1 September 2005 , the Commission received an application by Bell Canada under cover of Tariff Notice 6897, proposing revisions to General Tariff item 7020, Bell Digital Voice, to remove the condition that customers can migrate their current telephone number, provided by any local exchange carrier, to use as a secondary telephone number for Bell Digital Voice service and vice-versa.

This is to advise you that because of policy issues that have been raised as a result of the company's proposal, the Commission is unable to complete its determinations within 45 business days of the date of receipt of the tariff notice.   The Commission is continuing its analysis and expects to render its decision no later than year-end 2005.

Yours sincerely,
