Dear Mr. Palmer:

Re:   Bell Canada Tariff Notice 6897 - Bell Digital Voice Service

On 26 September 2005 , the Commission addressed supplementary questions to the company with regard to the above referenced application, requesting its responses by 3 October 2005 .

On 3 October 2005, the company advised the Commission that, due to the complexity of the various systems and processes involved in number portability, the company requires additional time in order to more fully investigate the constraints faced by Bell Digital Voice service and the alternative approaches to overcome those constraints.   The Company requested an extension to respond to the supplementary questions by 7 October 2005.

Commission staff considers the company's request to be reasonable.

Yours sincerely,
