Dear Mr. Grieve:

Re: Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2005-2, Forbearance from regulation of local exchange services

This is further to TELUS Communications Inc.'s (TCI) letter dated 20 July 2005 , which requested that the Commission add the tariffs listed below to its revised list of local exchange services established in Telecom Decision 2005-35, List of services within the scope of the proceeding on forbearance from the regulation of local exchange services, as amended by Decision 2005-35-1:

•  Electronic Transfer Capability for Centrex (TELUS CRTC 1005 Item 43 and CRTC 18001 Item 530);
•  Intra-exchange Distance charges (TELUS CRTC 25080 Items 2.07.04 and 2.07.05);
•  Services for Handicapped Persons (TELUS CRTC 25080 Item 4.09);
•  Access to 310 Service (TELUS CRTC 25080 Item 2.29).

TCI did not indicate which specific telecommunications services included in these tariffs it believes should be included on the revised list of local exchanges services set out in Decision 2005-35, as amended by Decision 2005-35-1. TCI has also not provided any rationale or basis for its belief that any telecommunications services contained in these tariffs should be included on the revised list of local exchange services.

In light of the above noted deficiencies, Commission staff is returning TCI's request.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Seidl,
Senior Manager, Telecom Policy
Telecommunications
