Mr. Michael Janigan Dear Mr. Janigan: Re: Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2005-3 - Proceeding to Consider extending the price regulation regime (PN 2005-3) - Request for modification to the schedule This is in response to the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) letter dated 3 June 2005 . In its letter, PIAC requested an extension to the filing deadline for comments from 13 June 2005 t o 11 July 2005 . In addition, PIAC requested the Commission to consider the adoption of an interrogatory process to assist in the compilation of an adequate record. PIAC stated that there were several major deficiencies in the operation of the current price cap regime. PIAC considered that these were matters that required more of an evidentiary record and analysis than was contemplated by the procedure set out in PN 2005-3. A copy of this letter is enclosed. In PN 2005-3, the Commission invited parties to comment on its proposal to extend without any changes the existing price regulation regime for the large incumbent local exchange carriers for a period of two years. The Commission's proposal does not contemplate a detailed review of any aspect of the existing price regulation regime. By raising major issues with respect to the current price regulation framework, PIAC is taking issue with the Commission's proposa l. In light of the above, PIAC's letter will be considered to be comments filed pursuant to PN 2005-3. PIAC may file additional comments in accordance with the date set out in paragraph 1 below. Parties should not reply to PIAC's letter or these additional comments until the date set out in paragraph 2 below. The dates for submissions in this proceeding are modified as follows:
Where a document is to be filed or served by a specific date, the document must be actually received, not merely sent, by that date. Yours sincerely, Original signed by:
