Re: Bell Canada Tariff Notice 6862 - Gateway Access Service

By letter dated 2 May 2005 , MTS Allstream Inc. (MTS Allstream) requested an extension to the filing due date for comments associated with an application by Bell Canada for revisions to Gateway Access Service , Tariff Notice 6862 (TN 6862), filed 31 March 2005.

MTS Allstream requested that the due date for comments be moved to five (5) days following the release of a decision to Telecom Public Notice 2004-2, Regulatory framework for voice communication services using Internet Protocol (PN 2004-2). MTS Allstream submitted that in doing so, parties would be in a better position to properly comment on all aspects of TN 6862. Similar requests have been received verbally from other parties.

In the circumstances, the requests to extend the filing deadline are considered reasonable.   Accordingly, the deadline for comments from interested parties is extended to five (5) business days after the release of the Commission's decision regarding PN 2004-2.

Y ours sincerely,
