Dear Mr. Hennessey

RE: Associated with Aliant Telecom Tariff Notice No. 158

On 15 April 2005 , the Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom

under cover of Tariff Notice 158, in which the company proposed to reduce rates for Megalink Service and Digital Exchange Access by eliminating the intra-exchange channel per DS-1, as well as the associated link charge, that is provided as part of the Digital Network Access (DNA) portion of the service.   The company also proposed to increase the rates for PSTN Connectivities, Measured rate option for Digital Switch Service and to grandfather the Measured rate option.

Commission staff notifies the company that it has questions related to this application and, in particular with the imputation test, and will be unable to complete its review of the application until they have been addressed.   To expedite this process, Commission staff proposes a conference call with the company to be held on 22 April 2005 at 9:00 AM EST.   If the company is unavailable on 22 April 2005 , it may wish to propose an alternate date and time.   The company is requested to provide an alternate date and time, if applicable, by no later than 21 April 2005 .   Furthermore, Commission staff requests that the company establish the logistics for the conference call and notify Commission staff of the logistics by no later than 21 April 2005 .

Yours sincerely,
