Re: Annual CTV Inc. Independent Production Activity Report Pursuant to Decision CRTC 2001-457 (Case Number 220848)
Dear Ms. Oberdieck:
This is to advise that the Commission accepts CTV Inc.'s Year 3 Independent Production Activity Report for the 2002/2003 Broadcast Year, filed 17 December 2004 pursuant to Licence renewals for the television stations controlled by CTV, Decision CRTC 2001-457, 2 August 2001.
This is also to advise that the Commission, consistent with last year's decision, grants your request to treat as confidential, the production budget, broadcaster licence fees and other broadcaster contributions for individual projects.
Furthermore, the Commission grants your request to treat as confidential the regional information as to production budgets and broadcaster licence fees, as well as the percentage of the total production budgets and percentage of total licence fees, accounted for by British Columbia, Quebec and the Atlantic region.
The Commission reminds CTV of the expectation stated in Licence renewal for the television stations controlled by CTV, Decision CRTC 2001-457 that:
CTV should be expected to engage in a level of production activity that is commensurate with its presence in its respective markets. The Commission therefore expects CTV to commission its priority programming from all regions of Canada, throughout the course of the new licence term.
The report will be placed on the Commission website and CTV's public examination file.
Yours sincerely,
Diane Rhéaume
Secretary General
