Deadline to commence operations

The Commission approves the application by Aboriginal Voices Radio Inc. for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of the FM radio programming undertakings authorized in Native FM radio station in Kitchener-Waterloo and Native FM radio station in Edmonton, Broadcasting Decisions CRTC 2003-155, 14 May 2003 and CRTC 2004-134, 5 April 2004.

This is the applicant's second request for the undertaking serving Kitchener-Waterloo and the first for the undertaking serving Edmonton for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of these undertakings.

The licences for these undertakings will be issued once the applicant has informed the Commission in writing that it is prepared to commence operations. These undertakings must be operational at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 1 September 2006, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before that date. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted at least 60 days before that date.
