Deadline to commence operations

1.

The Commission approves the application by MediaNet Canada Ltd. for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of the Category 2 specialty programming undertakings authorized in: NewsInternational - Category 2 specialty service, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-269, 4 September 2002 (now Tamil TV2); MovieWorld - Category 2 specialty service, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-270, 4 September 2002 (now Tamil TV3); and Music Music Music - Category 2 specialty service, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-271, 4 September 2002 (now Tamil TV4).
2. The Commission extends, to 4 September 2006, the deadline by which the operation of these Category 2 specialty services must commence. This is the final extension to be granted by the Commission with respect to the implementation of these Category 2 specialty services.
3. The licence for each undertaking will be issued once the applicant has informed the Commission in writing that it is prepared to commence operations. The authority granted in Broadcasting Decisions CRTC 2002-269, 2002-270 and 2002-271, respectively, will become null and void should the licensee fail to meet the new implementation deadline set out above.
