CKHJ Fredericton and its transmitters - Licence renewal

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the commercial radio programming undertaking CKHJ Fredericton and its transmitters CKHJ-1-FM New Maryland and CKHJ-2-FM Oromocto, from 1 September 2005 to 31 August 2012.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999.

The Commission reminds the licensee that it must fulfil all of the commitments to benefits described in Transfer of control of 3903206 Canada Inc., of Telemedia Radio Atlantic Inc. and of 50% of Radiomedia Inc. to Astral Radio Inc., Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-90, 19 April 2002, in which the Commission approved the applications by Astral Media inc. for authority to acquire all shares held directly or indirectly by Telemedia Radio Inc. in these corporations, including those of CKHJ and its transmitters CKHJ-1-FM and CKHJ-2-FM.

Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with theDepartment of Human Resources and Skills Development, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
